A new venue for Sculptures in the Vineyard 2014/5.

Due to the sale of Lyrebird Hill Winery and no show for this year I opted to ask another local vineyard to give it a ago.Cheeky bugger as I am.
Lucinda Estate Winery of Leongatha said-YES!
So we're hoping for a "Mixed Dozen" sculptors to get cracking and fill the vines with fantastic artworks to bedazzle the tourists and general public, whilst they quaff wonderful Gippsland wines in the tasting room.
The show should start mid December and go thru to the end of January. So, put it in your diaries as a must see.

Biography

Bob was born in Kingston upon Thames in Surrey, England and spent his childhood in both the U.K and Melbourne, Australia.

Upon finishing his formal education in England at Rutlish School, he commenced a Datec Diploma in General Art and Design in Croydon, Surrey. He then moved to the Midlands to gain his Bachelors of Art [Honours degree} at Loughborough College of Art and Design, majoring in print-making and painting.

This led to two successful exhibitions .One produced by the Midlands Art Group, the other, ‘Shape’ ,where his printmaking works were purchased, and now hang in Public Collections.

After a short spell tutoring in print-making at the Foundation College in Loughborough, he returned to London and then Melbourne, Australia.

He then continued to produce art -works and exhibit whilst employed in a variety of occupations, mainly in the Graphics arts industry in Melbourne. Exhibitions include: Yering Station Winery, Qantas Executive lounge, Brighton Horizon Gallery, Artistcare gallery and Kingston Arts Centre.

In 2001 Bob moved to South Gippsland with his late wife Alison Macdonald. He took up teaching Adult art classes in Korumburra and Leongatha and continued to exhibit both locally and in Melbourne. He was a National finalist in the Macarthur Cook exhibition held at 45 Downstairs Gallery in Flinders Lane and also the Williamstown Contemporary Art Festival judged by artist Ric Amor and David Hurlston, Curator of Australian Art NGV.

In 2004 his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and after surgery, chemo, radiation and a small respite her cancer returned. Bob became Alison’s principal carer and was unable to continue with his art. Alison sadly passed away in September 2008.

In May 2009 Bob held an exhibition of his paintings called ’Both Sides Now’, in honour of Alison’s brave struggle, in Brunswick, Melbourne with donations going to Breast Cancer Research.

This exhibition proved very successful and afforded Bob a well earned holiday in England, France and Holland.

Many of his recent works come from this experience.

Since his return Bob has exhibited at various galleries and shows including Sculptures in the Vine-yard in 2011 and had his paintings displayed at the Inverloch and Meeniyan Galleries. South. Gippsland. He continues to teach adult art classes locally in Koonwarra as well as to VCAL students at Community College Gippsland, Leongatha Campus.

His artworks hang in both private and public collections in England, France and Australia.
